I Smell Spring

It's a little difficult to believe that February has just about come and gone! Between my birthday, Valentine's Day and today being our anniversary, The Fox and I are just about burned out!! There's been a lot of other things going on as well to keep us busy- especially since we decided to go crazy and give up TV for Lent this year. We aren't actually Catholic, but we really like the concept of not getting something, even when you want it badly. Sometimes it is good to be told no! It doesn't feel that way at first, but really, there hasn't been anything crucial to survival that we have missed. Between smartphones and the internet, it's pretty difficult to avoid the news, and as much as I love Antiques Roadshow- it can wait for a few more weeks.
Not watching TV has really given us a lot more time; it is impressive to see what you can get done without distractions. We started re-arranging a lot of our tchotchkes, moving into more spring-ish items, as you can see! The Fox felt like it was a little feminine, but that's just how spring stuff is! (Don't let him fool you; he loves those old linens)

Look closely on the right for a much younger Tiger.. heehee.
Good times!

I'm not sure we have enough things sitting around!! Especially with a cat. He's not too feisty anymore though..

All in all, February has been good- but we are ready for spring to start!
Open windows, seedling sprouts, buttercups and short sleeves... These are just a few of my favorite things!!!

Hallelujah for the Weekend

Phew! It has been seriously cold around here this week, with just some snow flakes in the air to tease us. Thank the Lord for long underwear is all I'm saying. Apparently Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow today, so maybe the upcoming weeks will be kind and bring some spring! That would mean I need to get myself into action and actually start doing something with all those seeds I've been rambling on so much about, however. Eek.
As the reliable procrastinator that I am, I will now casually change the topic to something that involves at little less work...and wow you with my impressive segues at the same time!
Productivity has been high this week, although not in any way that would provide a great photo illustration. I've managed to get our taxes as organized as I ever will; now it's into the file folders and ready to dump on our tax preparer's desk with something between a plea for help and a grunt of disbelief that any of this will ever make sense to anyone. Only four weeks and counting until I can breath without feeling like a overweight Siamese is sitting on my chest. Well, that feeling never fully goes away when you actually do own an overweight Siamese cat, but at least between the hours of 6 am and 9 pm I will breathe easier at any rate.
Really, I suppose that's about all that's happening right now! I could ramble on, but no one cares that much about me organizing the shop, or the show I happened to see about a woman addicted to eating her cat's fur, so I'm just going to stop while I'm ahead. And because I can never do anything without throwing up at least one animal picture, here are the furbabies, rocking the scarf my lovely mother-in-law crocheted. I haven't taken it off for almost two weeks, but they don't seem quite as impressed as I am. Perhaps they just aren't impressed with me.
